                                  My analysis of the double page spread of Billboard magazine

I will be analyzing the double page spread of Billboard magazine.

The master head of the double page spread is very smart and the reason to why i think this is because there is a pun in there master head, the artist name is T.I and and when it say "summer t.i.me" it refers to the artist but also him being in or enjoying summer time

The photo of T.I (the artist) is very professionally  taken as you can tell the photo is unnatural. The image of T.I relates to the master head because the magazine knew that when people overall think about summer time they usually think about going on a plane and exploring and discovering new things, but in the image T.I has opened hid arms wide and straight which insinuates that he is imitating a plane, a plane that is soaring high in the sky, exploring and discovering new things.

 The free spirited circles  clarify my point, that T.I is imitating a plane in the sky, and the fact that the circles go through the the writing of the article also suggest that he is fast, free and he could do the unthinkable at any time. The reason why i have described the circles to be  like this is because I feel that the circles represents him and his attitude, there is more that one circle also the circles look fast which means that he is fast and he has a lot of connection and the fact that the circles go over the writing bit of the article suggests that he is bad and doesn't follow the rules i understand this because it is rear to see a magazine with pattern,shapes and designs going over the writing.


Now, in the writing bit of the article there is no drop cap, I find this very unusual because in most of the magazine there is a drop cap but here there isn't maybe this was done on purpose to prove to the audience his bad boy persona. The other thing I have realized is there that the both of the columns at the bottom the width and size are the same but the column on top of them is wider I think this was used to substitute the drop cap.

This is a small paragraph selling T.I to the audience talking about his successes and him being of authority as if he was calling all the shots(in charge). I think selling him to the audience in this way is artistic and smart because this makes the double page spread look  empty it is not bombarded with a lot of information.

 To conclude in my conclusion I thing that the double page spread id neatly laid out, I also like the fact that the double page doesn't look to full up and they used artistic ways to add additional information. The main thing that impressed me and that I consider doing in my magazine is relating that art, pattern,colours and master head relate to my artist but do it in an artistic way that Billboard magazine has done.
